Do I need to register to use LightningEX?

No, registration is not required to use LightningEX. You can exchange cryptocurrencies instantly without creating an account. Simply select your currencies, enter the amount, provide your receiving address, and complete the exchange.

However, creating an account allows you to track your exchange history, save favorite currency pairs, and access additional features like higher exchange limits and priority support.

How long does an exchange take?

Most exchanges on LightningEX are completed within 2-5 minutes. The exact time depends on several factors:

  • Blockchain confirmation time: Each cryptocurrency has different confirmation requirements
  • Network congestion: Busy networks may take longer to confirm transactions
  • Amount being exchanged: Larger amounts may require additional security checks

What are the minimum and maximum exchange amounts?

Minimum and maximum exchange amounts vary depending on the currency pair you're exchanging. These limits are determined by:

  • The liquidity available for the specific pair
  • Network fees for the respective blockchains
  • Current market conditions

You can view the specific limits for your chosen pair on the exchange page before initiating a transaction. The minimum amount is typically around $10-50 worth of cryptocurrency, while maximum amounts can range from $10,000 to $100,000+ depending on the pair.

What fees does LightningEX charge?

LightningEX charges a small service fee that is included in the exchange rate you see. This fee typically ranges from 0.1% to 0.5% depending on the currency pair and market conditions.

In addition to our service fee, there are network fees (also known as miner fees or gas fees) that are required to process transactions on the respective blockchains. These fees are also included in the rate displayed and vary based on network congestion.

The amount you see as "You Receive" is the exact amount that will be sent to your wallet—no hidden fees or surprises.

Is LightningEX safe to use?

Yes, LightningEX employs industry-leading security measures to protect your transactions:

  • Non-custodial: We never hold your funds—exchanges happen directly between wallets

What happens if I send the wrong amount?

If you send an amount different from what was specified in your order:

  • Less than specified: The exchange will still proceed, but you'll receive the proportional amount based on what you sent. You can then create a new order for the remaining amount.
  • More than specified: The excess amount will be automatically refunded to your wallet within 24 hours, minus any applicable network fees.

What should I do if my exchange is stuck?

If your exchange appears to be stuck or taking longer than expected:

  • First, check the order status page for real-time updates
  • Verify that your deposit transaction has been confirmed on the blockchain
  • Check if there are any network issues or high congestion for the involved cryptocurrencies
  • If the issue persists for more than 30 minutes, contact our support team with your order ID

Can I cancel an exchange after I've sent the deposit?

Once you've sent your deposit and it has been confirmed on the blockchain, the exchange process begins automatically and cannot be cancelled. This is because blockchain transactions are irreversible by design.

If you have not yet sent your deposit, you can simply not send it—the order will expire automatically after 1 hour, and no action is required on your part.

If you made a mistake with your order, please contact our support team immediately. While we cannot guarantee cancellation, we may be able to assist depending on the status of the exchange.
